Kicking things off

I'm going to start off with one of my favorite verses from when I was a kid. It comes out of Hebrews, and helps explain life as a Christian extremely well. I'm going to look at Hebrews 12:1-3 (NIV) "Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, 2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3 Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart." I really enjoy this verse because it talks about what Jesus went through in his Earthly form, and how we relate to that and how we are to be like Jesus throwing off the sin the hinders us. It also protrays the Christian life as a race that each person has marked out for God,s purpose. This is so inspiring I think because each person has their own life that they are supposed to find, and that I think is the goal of the Christian life is to run the race that God has given to us and planned for us to live. I will finish off with this that many times the word of God says to not grow weary and in this instance it clearly gives the solution to not burning out in the Christian life. This verse says to be mindful of Christ and all that he endured and remained true so that in your life you can remain faithful. There is so much more that can be taken from these verses, and I have just scratched the surface. Feel free to comment with what you think and get a conversation going.
