Science and Bible agree on water cycle

in #christian-trail4 years ago

The water cycle is the process through which water circulates in the world, making it possible for the available water in the earth to remain constant.

It is a fact in science that plants take in water from the soil, and lose it through transpiration, and metabolic processes, including photosynthesis. Animals on their own, take in water and lose it through expiration, sweat and urine. The key factors that drive the water cycle are evaporation and condensation.

Rainfall sends water to the soil, rivers/streams much of which ends in seas and oceans. Evaporation takes much of the water as vapour from the earth to higher altitudes of the atmosphere where it condenses to water and precipitate as rain. That's what everybody knows, backed by science.

Interestingly, the Bible, written by nonscientific writers, stated this same fact many many years ago in clear terms.

Job 36:27 states: "For he(God) maketh small the drops of water (meaning that, God makes drops of water small, or turns them to vapour): they pour down rain according to the vapour (meaning that, this same vapour pours down as rain).

The next verse 28, states: "Which the clouds do drop and distill upon man abundantly." In other words, "It is the clouds that drop that same vapour as rain upon man in large quality."

Further, Eccl. 1:7 sums up the whole process: "All the rivers run into the sea; yet the sea is not full: unto the place from whence the rivers come, thither they return again."
