What is grace???

- Grace is God's kindness to us when we deserve punishment
Deuteronomy 7:6-9
6. For you are a people holy to the Lord your God. The Lord your God has chosen you out of all the peoples on the face of the earth to be his people, his treasured possession.
7. The Lord did not set his affection on you and choose you because you were more numerous than other peoples, for you were the fewest of all peoples.
8. But it was because the Lord loved you and kept the oath he swore to your ancestors that he brought you out with a mighty hand and redeemed you from the land of slavery, from the power of Pharaoh king of Egypt.
9. Know therefore that the Lord your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commandments., New International Version (NIV)
Romans 3:22-24
22 .This righteousness is given through faith in[a] Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile,
23. for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
24. and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.,
Romans 5:1-8; 19-21
5. Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,
2. through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we boast in the hope of the glory of God.
3. Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance;
4. perseverance, character; and character, hope.
5. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.
6. You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly.
7. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die.
8. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. New International Version (NIV)
19. For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous.
20. The law was brought in so that the trespass might increase. But where sin increased, grace increased all the more,
21. so that, just as sin reigned in death, so also grace might reign through righteousness to bring eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. New International Version (NIV)
Ephesians 2:8-9
