4 Possible Reasons Why Your Prayers Are Unanswered

John 14:13-14 KJV:And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

Prayer is a direct communication between a Christian and God Almighty.

Believers gain access to God's throne of mercy and supernatural abilities through prayer. But why is it that most of our prayers don't get answered even after Christ has told us that "whatsoever we shall ask the father in his name,he will do it"? Is it that we are not praying aright? Or God is intentionally ignoring our prayers? If God is ignoring our prayers, what could be responsible for that?

As christians, prayer is our most potent tool to command the supernatural on Earth. If this aspect of our christian lives is not producing result, our Christian journey will be a very turbulent one. It's good we know what can prevent our prayers from being answered so that we can avoid them or correct ourselves if we have been making such mistakes in our prayer lives.

Below are four possible reasons why your prayers are not yielding the needed results.

  1. You Pray for selfish reasons:
James 4:3; KJV: Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.

God can do anything and will never withhold any good thing from his children. But whenever we ask anything from him, if our motives for asking for that thing is wrong, God will not meet such demand. Also, if such thing may make us drift away from God or cause us harm later on, God may not grant such request.

So before you ask anything from God, you must make sure that your motive for asking for that thing is right. Asking for the right thing with the wrong intention will not get your request granted. Your motive must be right in order for you to have a favorable response from God.

2 . You don't Pray in line with the word of God:

Any prayer that is not in line with God's word or his will will not get answered. God respond to his word thus, if your prayer must produce the needed result, it must he in line with God's word. Any prayer outside God's word or his will will go with the wind. So you must Pray in line with God's word if you want to command result with your prayer.

3 . You don't back up your prayer with faith:

Hebrews 11:6; KJV:But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Faith is the currency through which we can purchase anything in the supernatural relm. When you pray, do you believe that God can do it? Do you trust God completely? Or you trust God may be 70% and you reserve the other 30% for yourself in case God fails to do his 70%.

You must give God the whole 100% of your trust if you sure want a speedy answer to your prayers. God can give you whatever you are asking, but you have to believe that he can and trust him to do it. A prayer not backed by faith will not produce any result because faith is our only vehicle to the supernatural relm.

4 .Your heart is not right with God:

James 5:6; KJV:Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

The prayer of a sinner is an abomination to God. Before we request anything from God, we must ensure that our hearts are right with God. Sin hinders prayer more than any other thing.

Christ had already asked us to come boldly to his throne of grace to obtain mercy. Let's always use this golden opportunity to put ourselves aright before going to the father because a prayer from the heart of sin will not get answered.

God has promised us all that pertains to life and godliness but if we must enjoy these benefits, we must ensure that our lives are right with him and our prayer lives are also strong.

Thanks for having the time to go through it. I appreciate

This is an insightful post. Praying for the wrong reasons or without faith is a waste of time. Every of our request must be with the right intentions, backed by faith and in line with God's word in order for them to command result. Thanks for the insight
