It is happening this weekend!
In a previous post, A New Name, I told you that we will be changing the name of the church where I serve, this coming weekend. It is an exciting event that is filling my thoughts right now. Sharing the new name here before sharing it with the members of our church would not be right. But I am hoping to peek your interest and get you to look forward to when I do post the new name here. I know @vipnata, a Russian lady living in Italy, have already become interested and this is what prompted this post.
Here is why we looked for a new name:
- We want to reintroduce ourselves to the neighbourhood, community and city.
- We want to re-engage in serving, caring, and transforming our community.
- We want to renew our original desire to reach people far from God.
The following is what we wanted in this new name:
- A name that communicates mission
- A name that reflects who we are
- A name that has an ancient and future quality
- A name that appeals to both genders
- A name that generates curiosity
- A name that indicates movement over destination
- A name that is relational
Do you think we found a name that would live up to all of this? 😎 I look forward to your feedback when you discover what the new name will be.
At the beginning of this year we, as a church, heard God's voice to us in this scripture:
Please pray with us. This is a big weekend that we hope will lead to an even bigger impact in our community and city.
Am very happy to know about your new update....Since childhood have always wanted to be part of a missionary team with the aim of helping the less priviledged and the hungry and i believe you're also going to achieve that with the new name.

Providing a new name with a mission and good intensions in doing it is a way of uplifting your church. Whatever the name your church will have im looking forward for it in your next post.
