JOEL OSTEEN RESPONDS TO RECENT CRITICISMS
Joel Osteen and his church have come under mean-spirited attacks in the past week due to allegedly closing the church down to flood victims. The topic has been trending a few times this week and critics are still leaving hateful and slanderous comments on social media about Joel and Lakewood. Today was the first official service after Harricane Harvey and pastor Joel Osteen responded to these criticisms while the service was broadcasting live as usual.

I fell for the Occupy Democrats video when I saw it, believing that was pretty callous of Joel's organization to not give aid during the situation. But there were a few things raised red flags in my head. First the attitudes of the people filming were really bad. Second it didn't make any sense. No church is going to lock their doors during a crisis without good reason. And third, Occupy Democrats doesn't exactly have the best track record for honest reporting. It's usually sensational, political and anti-Christian.
I appreciate hearing Joel's side of the story, I sympathize with him. His organization is doing good for his community. I'm not a big Olsteen fan, but his attitude towards the slander was excellent. @ironshield

He preaches a false gospel. He also fleeces the flock. He and his wife both have private jets.
