The light of the gospel of Christ Jesus is so glorious.

The people which sat in darkness saw great light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death light is sprung up. Matthew 4:16

There are different types of light. Those made by man and the ones made by the Lord for use in this physical realm. Man made lights, only offer solutions within the operational sphere of a man. The lights from God, those in the solar system serve for a few seasons, etc... however these do little for the salvation of a man.

Knowing that man’s problems are mostly spiritual, means the solution can only be found spiritually. Meaning the bondage of sin, with all its vices can only be dealt with through spiritual means - the spiritual light from God.

Remember how the Bible tells us that Saul was set in his destructive path until something supernatural happened. In his account to King Agrippa, Saul states, reading from Acts 26: 13-14

At midday, O king, I saw in the way a light from heaven, above the brightness of the sun, shining round about me and them which journeyed with me.

And when we were all fallen to the earth, I heard a voice speaking unto me, and saying in the Hebrew tongue, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.

Saul’s hardened heart was only broken after two things happened; the light from heaven and the Word of the Lord. Nontheless, it started with the light - a light shinning brighter than the noon day sun! The change from the Saul who persecuted the church, to the one who became an ardent advocate for Christ started after the light from heaven shun on him.

Sometimes, we can’t change people's life with mere words. Over the years, I have seen that real change comes from a heart illuminated by the light of God. When God’s light dawns on your innerman, it would awaken a consciousness of God that no theological school can. It will also unveil the darkness the has shrouded the hearts of men - leading to repentance.

This is what we need to pray fervently, that this light of God will flood the hearts of men.
