The Lord Is My God
Zechariah 13:9 (KJV)
And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people: and they shall say, The LORD is my God.
Scofield gives this passage the subheading, “Result of the Gentiles Invasion under the Beast.” It would be difficult for a literal interpreter of the Bible to miss the connection of this passage to the Tribulation.
Of course, the primary subjects of the passage are the Jews. The Tribulation will be especially difficult for them as it will be in their land the Antichrist sets himself up to be worshipped. It will be their God he targets through them. It will be the purpose of God in the Tribulation to bring them to faith.
But they are not the only people affected by this Tribulation. They will not be the only ones refined. They will not be the only ones to come to faith in this period. Revelation tells us an infinite number of every people group will be saved.
What a blessing it is to say with confidence, “The Lord is my God.”
