All Things New
John 3:17-18 (KJV)
For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
Jesus truly makes all things new. In the old there was law and ritual and circumcision of the flesh. In the new there is grace and relationship and circumcision of the heart. In the old there was separation and judgment and sacrifice of animals. In the new there is sanctification and fellowship through the sacrifice of Christ.
Notice that Jesus said condemnation was here already. Jesus did not come to condemn but to deliver and to save all those who would believe and trust Him.
Romans 8:1
There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

Now you know where I stand but I appreacite it when I am able to comment with a different perspective and get your take on it. Again thanks for doing it, it is most helpful to me!
Paul talks about many different kinds of law, so I think we (including myself) have to make sure we figure out which law he is talking about when we are reading what he wrote. Here in chapter 8 it says that "7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be." "9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his." "13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live." Does this not say that the Spirit is life and because we are not in the flesh, which is not subject to the law of God, but the Spirit does that not mean the opposite? Meaning if the Spirit of God/Christ is in us then we would be subject to the law of God?
Can you explain from your perspective based off the following verses if you think we are in the New Covenant? This covenant is given to Israel and Judah, no one else is mentioned, so unless we join ourselves to them we will have no part of that covenant, would you agree that is what it is saying? Note that in verse 8 it says in finding fault with THEM, it doesn't say finding fault with the covenant. Hebrews here is quoting from Jeremiah 31:31-34.
I guess for me I want to know that the God that I worship is not a liar and doesn't change.
Thanks again for your input!
Blessings
I take the New Covenant to be the New Testament in its entirety.
God is not a liar and does not change - He does, however - carry a plan to completion. A construction project, for instance, goes through several phases. To say that removing the the dirt working equipment to bring in the structural equipment constitutes a change in the project is a fallacy. Same plan, same project, same designer, different phase. You left our Hebrews 8:10-12. God's plan for Israel is to use them to teach every man. The plan of God is to use Israel (through Jesus Christ) to give mercy to all nations and tongues.
As for the Law, Galatians is clear, we, who are in Christ, have a new law, better and higher law.
