PRAISE GOD!
"I will bless the Lord at all times : his praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul shall make a boast in the Lord: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad. O magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together. " -- Psalms 34:1-3.
WHAT IS PRAISE?
Praise is simply a commendation represented favourably in words. It is a way of showing gratitude, appreciation for a good deed or gesture shown to someone.
WHY YOU SHOULD PRAISE GOD
There are a thousand and one benefits that accompanies praising God.
Praise is a mystery that attracts supernatural help. A 'praiser' is a victorious person. Anyone that engages in praising God flies high in life. When others are crawling, trying to become something in life, he/she goes on a totally different momentum in life. Praising God distinguishes you from others.
No one raises his hand and voice in total praise to God without being raised in life due to the fact that praise is an invitation that the Almighty God cannot refuse. Praises move God; It causes him to stand up from His seat in heavenly places and He does so, things will just refuse to be the same in your life; things just have to change for good.
Praise causes God to handle the situations of your life Himself. When you praise Him sincerely, He does not send angels or pastors to solve your problems.; He solves it Himself. So brethren, if you want to be raised and lifted in life, you must learn and make a conscious effort to praise God effectively. Your lifting or going up in life is a function of how effective your praise is. Do you want to go higher, let your praise go higher first. Let God hear you singing and proclaiming His praises.
THE LIFE OF HE WHO PRAISES GOD IS FULL OF VICTORIES!
Apart from God lifting you up in life, you have other reasons you should praise God.
You praise God because of His greatness. God is a great God. He is the King of kings and the Lord of lords. No man or king on earth can match God's greatness. His greatness knows no bound. He controls and monitors the affairs of the whole but He never gets tired. He does not feel dizzy or sleepy let alone sleep. What a great God!! He hears the prayers and supplications of the whole earth at the same time.
God is omnipresent. God is omniscient. God is omnipotent. I can never be able to enumerate God's greatness even if I'm being given a lifetime. This alone is enough for you to praise Him. This God deserves our praise. Stop praising man. Praise God!!
You praise God for His splendour and majesty. God is royalty. His glory fills the earth. He is the most glorious God. So praise Him for His glory. Glory is action in nature. It is the ability to eat, wear, drive, touch and live. Glory is not a feeling.
WHEN SHOULD YOU PRAISE GOD?
There should not be a special time for praising God. Praising God should go beyond the pastor announcing ' it's praise and offering time' and the choristers sing and then you offer. It should go beyond that. You should praise God at all times, at every moment of your life. Whether in the church, home, office, school etc , praise Him. Let praising God be what you do and see how God does the work of elevating you in life.
Other things to note are:
When things are not going well with you, praise God.
When times are hard, praise Him more.
When times are harder, praise Him even more.
When things are going well, praise Him.
When you have it all, praise Him.
When you do not have it all, still praise Him.
When there is no food on the table, praise the Lord.
When you have food in excess, praise Him.
Even if your posts doesn't get upvoted, still praise God.
Both in good and bad times, your duty is to praise God.
AN ATTITUDE OF PRAISE IS A WINNING ATTITUDE.
In Conclusion :
Praises cause one to do more for you. Let someone give you a dollar today and then you show gross appreciation; you praise him or her. When he wants to give you next time, it will go beyond a dollar. That is what praise does. When you praise God , you cause him to do even more. He loves praise that is why when His people praise, He comes down to inhabit the praise.
