If one may add the verse.....
For you see, God loved the world so much that He gave His uniquely born Son so that anyone who believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal lfe. ....translated from the original language of the Koine Greek....John 3.16
.With this reading Jesus tells us that in order to obtain eternal life it is necessary to act as He taught it, following the scriptures.
“Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.” - Matthew 7:14

If one may make a point here......It is as it says in the Bible...'Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved.'

It is believe...... not 'act as He taught'.....for eternal life.
.....'For by Grace are you saved through faith and not that of yourselves; it is the gift of God. Not of works lest any man should boast. Ephesians 2.8,9
