Almost all the information we have about Peter's family (apostle) tells us that he had several brothers Andrew, James and John whose father was named Zebedee all worked in the family business which was fishing.
When Peter received the call from the master he was married, his mother-in-law was healed by Jesus (Mark 1:29-31) later Paul in one of his letters to the Corinthians says that he took his wife with him on some trips (1Co 9:5) something that should not have been easy for a marriage because following Christ costs everything.
Peter was a common man, which leads us to think that his education was very unusual, a common person from whom people usually expect very little, not to say anything extraordinary when mentioning his name we can remember his talk with Jesus, in the depth and richness of the gospel about his life or in the notoriety of his fear of denying Jesus and after passing through it is restored by the Lord in an impressive way which we can appreciate and delight in in the discourse of the day of Pentecost when our beloved Holy Spirit immediately equips him for the task of preaching the word.
Peter did not know what it would take to follow Jesus that day when he said yes; nor how much it would cost him to convert from Simon to Cephas... Many of us can see ourselves reflected in the life of this Apostle who with many setbacks and vicissitudes due to his character had to be processed by the loving hands of the Father who sometimes hurt, God's strategies to mold Peter's life included motivation, instruction, rebuke, reflection but above all even though at times it seemed that LOVE was not very much.
The life of this man as a disciple has a lot to contribute to us because it doesn't matter where you started but that you continue until you finish the race and even if you have setbacks always but always obey your blessing there is your blessing.
