Luke 2:8-14 KJV

[8] And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.
[9] And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.
[10] And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
[11] For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
[12] And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.
[13] And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,
[14] Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

The emphasis is going to be on verse 10.

We have two different type of news. We have the good news and we also have the bad news
Today, what we hear everywhere is the bad news and we are now use to the bad news to the extent that people fine the funny and entertaining. People love hearing bad news.

When Satan was sent to the world, God said woe unto the world. But thank God for Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ came to the world to give us joy but many did not see his coming as a good news.

We always rejoice whenever someone give birth or buy a new car but we fail to celebrate the coming of Jesus Christ. Maybe because we feel it happened over 2000years ago and it's no longer a news. The angel said in that verse 10 of Luke chapter 2 that it's a good news that will bring joy.

Before Jesus Christ it was God for us. When Jesus came, it was God with us and when the Holy Spirit came, it's God in us.

God came to the world cos he wants to be closer to us and after he left, he sent down the Holy Spirit to live in us.

Who are the beneficiary of the good news?

The good news is for all. John 3:16 says for God so love the world that he gave his only begotten son...... Also, verse 10 of Luke chapter 2 says the good news is for all people.

But the actual beneficiaries are those who believe in him. The concluding part of John 3:16 says .........whoever believe in him will not perish but have everlasting life.
So, to be a beneficiary of the good news, you have to believe in the good news which is Christ.

Now, after believing, there comes a responsibility which is to spread the good news. We have to preach the good news to others.
The question now is, are you an agent of good news or bad news?

The good news is for everybody

Only those who believe the good news will benefit from the joy of the good news

We all need to the preach the good news to others
