Dear steemians, today being 30th March, 2018 is another remarkable date in the life of Christians. A day Christians set aside to mourn the death of Jesus Christ (born of God and died on the cross for the sake of humanity) and celebrated also as a day SALVATION was brought to humanity while man was reconciled back to his creator (GOD).

On this day (the GOOD FRIDAY), Christians remind themselves of the SEVEN WORDS OF CHRIST ON THE CROSS and the need to live holy lives, worthy of emulation.

FIRST WORD

Father forgive them, for they know not what they do (luke 23:33-34).

SECOND WORD

Today, you shall be with me in paradise(Luke 23:39-43)

THIRD WORD

Woman, behold your son, son behold your mother(john 19:26-27)

FOURTH WORD

My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? (matt 27:46)

FIFTH WORD

I thirst(John 19:28)

SIXTH WORD

It is finished(john 19:30)

SEVENTH WORD

Father, into your hands I commit my spirit(Luke 23:46)

For our sake he was bruised and chastised with whips one can hardly imagine would be used on a human.

For our sake, huge nails were driven through his palms and feet to hold him firm on the cross.

For our sake a crown of thorns was placed on his God head.

For our sake his sides were pierced and blood gushed out like a spring of water.

He was and is still God, he had the authority to quit his mission to save humanity from the shackles of sin or to crush down the soldiers and high priests that were persecuting him, yet, he took it all for us, the pain and the shame just to see that humanity is saved and the question is "how are we living our lives in appreciation of what he has done for us or are we crucifying him the second time through the way we live?

However, it is a time of sober reflection and a time to amend ways with Christ
