START:

• Begin the class with a prayer (ask a child to pray).
• Dialogue on different situations and what we should do.
  1- Someone hits you and hits you.
  2- Someone will not let you play.
  3- Someone breaks something.
  4- Someone offends you.
  5 - Somebody grab you something without asking permission.

DEVELOPMENT:

Talk about what God tells us about Forgiveness.

• How can I forgive those who have offended me?
  We have all done something wrong, offended and sinned against someone at some point in our lives.

Matthew 18: 23-35
God promises that when we come to Him, asking for His forgiveness, He freely gives it to us.

When we see the great mercy of God in forgiving ALL our transgressions, we realize that we have no right to withhold this grace from others.

• Why do we forgive those who offend us?
  According to the Bible, we must forgive everyone.

• Copy the verse on the whiteboard to memorize

Matthew 6:15
But if they do not forgive others their offenses, their Father will not forgive them theirs.

• Tell the story of Joseph in Genesis 27: 12-2

ANSWER

1. How do you think Joseph felt when his own brothers sold him, to be a slave in Egypt?
   Explain that Joseph became an important man in Egypt, (see Genesis 41: 38-43.
2. Were you angry with the brothers? Genesis 45: 5.
3. How did Joseph show that he had forgiven them? Genesis 45: 5-15

Activities
Read the story of Joseph and then a group of students should dramatize the sale of
Joseph and another group the meeting of Joseph with his brothers.

CLOSING

• Ask the children to forgive them if they were offended or ignored at any time.
• Invite the children to ask forgiveness of their peers and to forgive.
• Tell them that it is important to forgive parents and ask for forgiveness, to take them as activity for the house.
• Memorize the verse
