Open Church Week 4 - all are welcomed

Greetings fellow Steemians.

Welcome to Week 4 of Open Church

Open Church is an initiative by @majes, @nextgen622 and the Christian trail community on Steemit. It aims to be a place where Christians on Steemit can hang out, encourage and build up one another, and reflect the love of Christ. The church is not a building, but is made up of people who have been transformed by God's grace.

Steemit is not all about money, but it's also a community of real people with real needs. So let us be a community of brothers and sisters that can Truly support one another with our real lives. Hope we can put aside the money element of Steemit and enter into authentic fellowship with one another.

Each week we will be putting up a new post with a new topic or theme for discussion. But feel free to come here just to fellowship and be a blessing to one another. Whatever denominational background your from, or if you're just curious about the Christian faith, everyone is welcome.

So feel free to share a link to your favourite worship song, share a word of encouragement, a prayer request, or introduce yourself. But please do not promote any posts here, or get into any arguments here.

Today's theme is share about something God has been teaching you recently, or share a word of encouragement for the Christian-trail community that you believe God has placed on your heart

Be Blessed.

Through some bible studies, we are doing God is showing us again His big mercy and that He listen to sinners. When God punished Cain for the murder of Abel, Cain said to God that the punishment was too severe and that the people would want to kill him. So God gave Cain a mark so that the people would not kill Cain. When Abraham ask God to spare Sodom and Gomorrah each time Abraham came up with a number of righteous people that He will spare the city for, God said yes. BUT Abraham stopped at 10. Abraham thought that was the end of God's mercy. If he would have go on asking God for only 4 people, maybe God would even have spared it just for Lot and his family. We cannot deplete the mercy of God.

God placed in my heart the value of having a complete confidence into His ability to sustain us. What He really want to see is how the way we value the kind of love and forgiveness, He bestowed upon us. He wants us to really embrace the change of a new life in Christ. Let's all walk in a manner worthy of our identity with Jesus. - shalom!

Amen, and as someone with severe financial problems I bear immediate witness of His sustaining ability, He always comes thru as needed.. Praise Him!

God used this movie to call me out of the darkness in 2013. I'll never forget it :]

Romans 10:11 - For the Scripture says, “Everyone who believes on Him shall not be put to shame.”

Oh how great and sweet it is to trust our Lord Jesus. Trusting in Him in all aspects of our life, not trusting in anyone else, not even trusting our own self.
Brothers and sisters, "Not I, But Christ!!!"
In nothing shall we be ashamed, for He, in all, must be applied!
Praise you Lord!!!

Amen. "Not I. But Christ." Indeed, whether we eat or drink, or whatever we do, let's do it all in the name of Jesus, giving glory to God the Father through him. Christ be glorified and magnified in and through our lives.

Praise the Lord! We are the pillars, the living testimony of Christ. It is not us who is living, but it is Christ living in us!

The Lord has been teaching me about the value of fellowship, sharing and listening to others. How He is with us when we come together and talk about the things that He's done in our lives, and encouraging one another because of it.

I really love the weekly "Open Church," thread. It gets our hearts in the right place and our focus on Him, rather than all of the other things that we can be occupied with.

I agree. I love reading through all the comments each week. It's wonderful to fellowship with brothers and sisters throughout the world, and to see what God is doing in our lives, and be able to share and encourage.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.

As I almost missed my flight today, this verse came to my mind to not rely on my own understanding! God is sovereign and in control. He is gracious and full of grace!

Amen. Thanks for sharing.
