Laziness does not please God.

in #christian-trail5 years ago (edited)

Greetings brothers and friends.

God likes that we are well, that we live a life in blessing, that we work and also that we rest, he wants us to have a secure future and that is why he tells us in his word that we are not worry of anything; but like everything, there are people who take things to the extreme.

When God says that we are not anxious, it does not mean that we do not work, much less that we do nothing, on the contrary, God blesses the worker and He is his sustenance.

1 Timothy 5:18

For Scripture says, “Do not muzzle an ox while it is treading out the grain,” and “The worker deserves his wages.”

Many go through life without doing anything, spend their days lounging around, they make no sense of anything and believe they are doing well. But the truth is that God hates laziness. Each person has the ability to earn a living.

2 Thessalonians 3:10

For even when we were with you, we gave you this rule: “The one who is unwilling to work shall not eat.”

Here we clearly read what the laziness payment is. With laziness nothing will ever be achieved. If you really want something in life, you must work for it, you should not sit waiting without doing anything. God wants action, perseverance.

Proverbs 6: 6-11

6 Go to the ant, you sluggard;
consider its ways and be wise!
7 It has no commander,
no overseer or ruler,
8 yet it stores its provisions in summer
and gathers its food at harvest.
9 How long will you lie there, you sluggard?
When will you get up from your sleep?
10 A little sleep, a little slumber,
a little folding of the hands to rest
11 and poverty will come on you like a thief
and scarcity like an armed man.

Every work has its reward and "doing nothing also has its reward." In the proverbs we can find many verses that speak about the consequences that laziness brings.

Proverbs 10: 4-5

4 Lazy hands make for poverty,
but diligent hands bring wealth.
5 He who gathers crops in summer is a prudent son,
but he who sleeps during harvest is a disgraceful son.

A person who does not strive for anything, it is unlikely that God would like him and worse, his future would be uncertain. What can a person who has not done anything in his life expect to get a roof to live or a job to eat? God does not support scoundrels.

Proverbs 19:15.

Laziness brings on deep sleep,
and the shiftless go hungry.

We can harness our energies, be cautious, wise and hard working to build a future of blessing, always asking for God's direction and doing everything with love and passion.
