WE ARE MORE THAN CONQUERORS
The Christian life is full of challenges and conflicts coming in various ways, sources and degrees.
Text: 2Cor 10:2-6
Well, i am begging you now so that when i come i won't have to be bold with those who think we act from human motives. We are humans, but we don't wage war as humans do. We use God's mighty weapons, strongholds of human reasoning and to destroy every false arguments. We destroy every proud false obstacles that keeps people from knowing God. We capture their rebellious thoughts and teach them to obey Christ. And after you have become fully obedient, we will punish everyone who remains disobedient.
It is a thing of joy to note that victory has been obtained and made certain at the cross. Jesus had to experience all the perils of human existence and came out without sin. Man is not just to conquer, subdue and control, but has been admitted into a concluded victory. Man is to rule by virtue of faith and obedience to the word of God.
To conquer means to subjugate or acquire by force or strategy. It is to overcome obstacles or to bring down and destroy an existing power.
To be more than conqueror implies a situation where victory is always 100% guaranteed. There is no room for failure because of the superiority of force and strategy provided by Jesus Christ.
To be more than conquerors, therefore is to submit to the virtues of faith and patience in the battles of life. We are more than conquerors because the benefits of our victory in Christ far exceed the rewards available to literal conquerors of the world.
There are some challenges and adversaries that Christians must contented with. We cannot exhaust the list of such adversaries that are contending against us as believers of Christ. The self in the believer which is his flesh and blood nature, is the first adversary that must be brought under control.
Text: Ephesians 6:10-18
A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in His Mighty power. Put on all of God's armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. For we are not fighting against evil flesh and blood but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against evil spirits in the heavenly places. Therefore, put on every piece of God's armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm. Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God's righteousness.
Another adversary a Christian will have to contend with is tribulations and trials of life. These are pains caused by the kingdom of darkness on our comfort to subdue out faith. We contend with powers and rulers of this world who wants to take the place of God in our lives, and are the authors of subtle and potent devices that promote evil and iniquity....
No mater how fierce it may appear physically, the battles of the Christians are spiritual in origin and require primarily weapons of spiritual potency.
Jesus can not be ignored in this battle because He has the primary rile to play. Jesus is the captain of our salvation, He is the commander from whom we must take instruction. Jesus name is our battle cry, He is the final judge of all things, and He is our rewarder.
The benefits of being more than a conqueror include empowerment to do the work of God without hindrance. They reign with Christ here on earth and are to reign with Him forever I'm the kingdom of God. Everlasting life is the greatest reward of those who are more than conquerors and who will do great exploits for God.
Conclusion
God in His infinite wisdom and mercy has conquered for us and given us direct access to participate in His victory.
Indeed, we're conquerors.
