The example of Christ: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage

The apostle Paul in his epistle to the Philippians reminded us of the importance of always keeping in mind the example of Christ and his righteousness: "Do to others what you would have them do to you" Matthew 7:12; because only in this way can the gospel message bear fruits of life.
In a world where lies, deceit, and oppression are commonplace, following the path of Jesus is a real challenge and the apostle Paul gave ample proof of this, who probably wrote the epistle to the Philippians while in prison, the church in its beginnings suffered the problem of persecution.
And to make Jesus known to the first believers, Paul wrote in his epistle a liturgical hymn about the teacher, a hymn that first describes his divinity, then his incarnation in the world, and finally his death and glorification.
This is how the apostle Paul spoke to us about Christ:
"Who, being in very nature God,
did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage;
rather, he made himself nothing
by taking the very nature of a servant,
being made in human likeness.
And being found in appearance as a man,
he humbled himself
by becoming obedient to death—
even death on a cross!
Therefore God exalted him to the highest place
and gave him the name that is above every name,
that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,
in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the glory of God the Father" Philippians 2:6-11.
According to the carnal mentality, the Kingdom of God is nonsense, but if we understand that the Kingdom of God, the empire or dominion or God's perfections, is a gradual and progressive growth toward the likeness of God, we understand why, as Paul taught in his hymn, if men want to be the first, they must become the last, and serve their brothers. Spiritual realities can only be understood in spiritual terms.
