Slay Queen
There is a new or rather old (depending on where you come from) breed of woman in town known as the slay queen! Before the slay queen phenomen we had been used and accustomed to what was known as a diva. There's a characteristic difference between a diva and a slay queen. A diva was an upstanding woman of good moral character who was proud to the fact that she earned and paid for her own bills and was therefore not dependant on a man. A diva in Beyonce's own words was a respectable lady and in her song "i am a diva" she was trying to conceptualize that this is a person who will take part in helping out to realize the dreams that the family sets out to achieve! She is an independent and fierce, with a woman's naturing capacity.
You see, there are things you see happening but choose to remain quiet! It's mainly due to the societal backlash you are likely to endure from certain groups and make you seem like you are the one on the wrong. You would be a fool to underestimate these groupings that I'm even fearful to mention. These groups are in form of non government organisations and are funded by certain countries to further certain interests and agendas.
.... I know I'm veering of the subject matter .... but that was pressing and had to be said!
Exit the diva enter - The slay queen which is a new phenomenon that has caught up with our millennial girl child (18 - 27 year olds). I would like to say that i love women and i am not the one who goes around bashing women, i am all in with affirmative action, equality and empowering our women. But like spider man dad told spiderman "with great power comes great responsibility" The Diva was the Epitome of what women were fighting for - she was learned and respectful. She therefore could compete equally for opportunities with man.
With the slay queen you have another thing coming, this is a woman whose only claim to fame is beauty! (Beauty is relative) She wants to choke everyone around her with how cool she thinks she is. And this is how you'll identify some them..

Strictly rich old sugar daddies, they will never give a chance to a man their iwn age. They can smell a poor man from a kilometre away!
In my country Kenya, they are tucked away in some rented apartments, their apartments are well furnished and they are even bought some little nice cars to move around with but once this is done - the sugardaddies are given complete rights to have their way with them until the said slay queen becomes older or starts asking for wifely rights.

Hahahaha. This trend is alarming. But what gets most people mostly i guess would be the language and how they let their guard down to be used and then left alone. But they are some slay queens who are also divas. they can provide for themselves and they keep slaying
A diva had a certain sense of decency and decorum. She was proud to the fact that she earned (legitimately) and paid her own bills and was therefore not dependant on a man. She had in most cases one man and a family to take care of.
A slay is a rare breed, she boarders on the 12am profession. I have heard people say that she's a glorified and elevated woman of the nocturnal profession. She will do anything humanly possible to enhance her beauty, she will bleach her skin, enlarge her body parts with silicon and needles, visit witch doctors to gain powers to attract men! She will have a string of men lined up to take care of all her bills and she is shameless enough to parade all of them on social media.
