A Mirage Appears over Yantai: Buildings "Flying" in the Air
Yesterday (August 5), a mirage appeared over Muping District, Yantai City, Shandong Province. At 8 o'clock in the morning, many buildings stood in the clouds, and the tower crane in the building room was also visible. Until 10 o'clock in the morning, the mirage which lasted for more than 4 hours slowly dispersed. Mirage is an optical phenomenon. When light passes through air layers with different densities, it will be refracted or totally reflected. Under clear, windless or breeze weather conditions, it is easy to form total reflection, thus creating mirage wonders.
