in #chinese3 years ago (edited)

Hi everyone!

I'm back after a 2 year break, and I'm finally in University!! I chose to study Chinese and have been enjoying it a lot

大家好!
现在我是一个大学生学习汉语,我很喜欢学这个语言但是我的水平不太高。但是这个年我想做一个HSK三考试。

Thought I might do a post briefly introducing the Chinese New Year, which started yesterday.
Every year the dates for the Chinese New Year vary from mid Jan to mid Feb, and this year the public holiday for Chinese New Year began on 12 February 2021 and will last until around 17 February 2021.

However, on the eve of Chinese New Year's there will be a lot of celebration, such as the family reunion dinner (of course slightly different this year), as well as celebrating by staying up until midnight while perhaps watching the CCTV spring festival gala (check out the performances on youtube!).

As some may know, this year is the year of the Ox in the Chinese Lunar calendar. Ox in Chinese is the same character as cow and pronounced niu - 牛。

Happy 牛 year!

新年快乐你们!恭喜发财!
