China Cutting Tariffs On 700 Items Amid Push To Boost Imports By $30 Trillion

President Xi is committed to opening China up to imports.

This is not in response to the conflict with the United States and President Trump. It is, instead, a long term plan for China to import more than $30 trillion over the next 15 years.

In another round of tariff cuts, the China government slashed the tariff on over 700 items.

This is in keeping with the long term strategy Xi laid out in 2017.
