Olmué (Chile)

Olmué is a commune and city of Chile located in the Province of Marga Marga, Valparaíso Region, within the central zone of the country. Until March 11, 2010, formed The name of Olmué comes from Mapudungun wülngu ('huilmo') and we ('place, place'), which means "place of Huilmos." This, when adapted to Spanish would give name to the hacienda of "Gulmúe", property of Mariana de Osorio, widow of Don Alonso de Rivera and Figueroa, where later the town of Olmuéarte of the Province of Quillota would be formed. In Olmué there is the La Campana National Park , declared by the UN as a world biosphere reserve. Olmué is located in an area with a very special climate, similar to that of California. Tourism:
The main source of income for the city is tourism. In Olmué you can visit restaurants, cabins, festivals, horseback riding, hostels, hotels and typical Chilean dishes, as well as delicacies such as jams, delicacies with nuts or cheeses from the countryside.
