"The Wheels on the Bus" is an American folk tune dating no later than 1939 written by Verna Hills (according to Wikipedia). It is a well-liked children's song in the many countries including the United Kingdom, the United States, Australia and Canada, and is regularly sung by kids on bus trips to keep themselves pleased. It has a very repetitive rhythm, making the song simple for a big number of people to sing, in a manner parallel to the song "99 Bottles of Beer". It is based on fellow usual British song "Here We Go Round the Mulberry Bush".
