The Boarding House (love story)

Mrs Mooney was the main character who was very clever persuasive and butchers daughter. She had married with a foreman and started to run the butcher shop. In the beginning, the business ran well and they earn a lot of money but after the death of the father, they went in a heavy loss because the foreman developed the habit of drinking. One night, the foreman being a drunk try to kill her by knife but Mrs Mooney saved herself by hiding in the neighbour's house. From then Mrs Mooney kicks out her husband from property and family. She took the responsibility of rearing the children. With the remaining Mooney, she ran a boarding house.

She had two children jack and Polly. Jack was always busy on talking vulgar things with the soldier. Polly was 19 years old beautiful girl who is attractive the boy with his long hair and the physical structure. Mrs Mooney sent her in a typing course so that she could develop skills but she left to go after her drunk father disturb her. Mooney then sent her to take care the boarding house. Many kinds of people stayed there including artist, painter and musician but Polly had the very close relationship with Doran who was educated and work in a reputed company. Everybody knew about their love affair but Mrs Mooney didn't take any action as she was waiting for the right time to talk about marriage.

Mooney thought that Doran had taken the advantage of pollys young and innocent life. So, he should pay the compensation by marrying Polly. On the other hand, Doran was also thinking to marry Polly or not. He was sure that he would lose the job and his reputation would be damaged if he didn't marry Polly. Similarly, his character would be damaged if he married because Polly was an uneducated girl and butcher's daughter who did not understand even the simple grammar. In the same time, Mooney said Polly to call Doran to talk about marriage. As soon as, Polly saw Doran consoled not to cry. In the talk between Mooney and Doran, Doran did not show any interest to marry Polly but Mooney to trapped. Doran reminded him of their love affair. Doran recalling the time with Polly was finally ready to married Polly.
