Going along to get along.
Most children growing up here in the U.S. quickly discover that going along to get along is the preferred way to avoid exposure as being unique. Uniqueness is dangerous in the world of children. Being singled out by teachers and/or your peers can lead to teasing, bullying, isolation and all sorts of disasters. Most boys aren't big and handsome and athletic and most girls aren't beautiful and feminine and charming. These are the only true defenses of children against uniqueness. Most kids are average. So they seek anonymity in their dress styles, their music etc., as we all remember.
It is up to the parents to see that a child has the skills by the time they are adults to fend for themselves in this world. The demise of the family and the handing over of education to government funded schools with common curriculums has resulted in a vast army of millions of high school graduates who are clueless as to how to survive properly in this world.
Schools don't teach them about the traps our culture has laid out like a mine field.
of course not. #whatpubliceducationdoestothebrain is about mindless conformity
