Hong Kong Chief Executive Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor falls and fractures and needs to stay in hospital for observation and temporary leave
The Office of the Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region stated that the Chief Executive Carrie Lam fell down at the Government House yesterday (18) and went to the hospital on her own. After a doctor's examination, it was confirmed that her right elbow was fractured. According to the doctor's recommendation, Carrie Lam will stay in the hospital for observation and take a temporary leave.
The Chief Executive's Office also stated that today's (19th) executive meeting will be adjourned and the media meeting before the meeting will also be cancelled. During Carrie Lam’s leave, the Chief Secretary for Administration, Li Jiachao, will act as the Chief Executive.
