Our New Chickens - Scrap Wood, Pallet Wood Chicken Coop Build, Part 8

The day finally arrived that we've been working towards and waiting for... We got our new chickens!!!

We bought them from another homesteading family we found on our local homesteading group on facebook. They had several breeds to choose from but we (my wife) decided on getting two Orpingtons and two Olive Eggers -- hopefully I spelled those right!

It was another hot day on the homestead when they arrived and they were panting for a while (you'll see it in the video). We have them a watermelon and made sure they knew where and how to drink water from.

After leaving them alone for a few hours, we came back out to check on them and they were much better. They had cooled off and settled down.

They're still shy of us, but they'll soon be trained that when we come around it means food!!!
