Walik's chicken is one of Indonesia's rare local chickens, with the appearance of reverse fur (curling) towards the front and back, so that the skin surface of his body is clearly visible. This type of chicken is found in Bogor and Sukabumi regency. Physical form is almost similar to the chicken. Has a variety of fur colors such as black, brown, reddish brown, white, red speckled spirits, black, white and other color combinations. The color of this diverse fur is influenced by genes that spur the production of melanin pigment in the body of the walik chicken. Melanin pigment is divided into 2 types namely eumelanin and pheomelanin. Eumelanin that form black and blue on chicken feathers while pheomelanin to form red, brown, salmon, and dark yellow. In addition, corn feed consumed by chicken contains xantofil which also can form the yellow color in the legs and skin of the chicken.
