The shape behind the EOS logo

Today I started thinking about the shape of the EOS logo and just where it came from. I remember hearing Dan mention it briefly on an early eos.io video. After a search I found this video.

That is the only thing he says about it but he did mention there are some good videos on the web.

This lead me on a search for this 7 sided form the Chestahedron, a word so new my spellchecker thinks it's spelled wrong.

Where did this shape come from...

And to my wonder I found this video with the artist/scientist who discovers the shape.
His process is an amazing story and how all of this fits into my current art surprised me.

There is so much information in this video I will need to come back and reference it again. Thank you for riding along with me on this train of thought. My new series of paintings is called Heart Strings and now I find this information and it has my mind going the series is a sacred geometry exploration now I have a form to explore and sculpt. It is a double rainbow that it also happens to be the shape behind the upcoming EOS blockchain launch.
