Chess problem by Philippe Stamma (1737)

I'm reposting a chess problem that was left unsolved. Which one of you chessmasters or amateurs will solve it first (without cheating).

Whites to move and checkmate in 8 moves. Black queen threats to checkmate in one move.

no idea but Star Trek Data would know what to do

This is the first chess problem I have posted and it isn't actually that hard, if you consider that you have to keep checking every turn until you checkmate otherwise you lose.

It would be imperative to know who's move it is? Or should we try it both ways?
