Chess Blitz of the Day

Tournament = Aeroflot Open 2013.

Peter Svidler

In 2011, after 10 years, he became the FIDE World Cup Champion by winning in a four-match match with his Russian compatriot Alexander Grischuk, with a score of 2.5 - 1.5 in favor By Svídler.

Historically, International Master Andréi Lukin has been his usual coach. In recent years, Grand Masters Aleksandr Motyliov, Nikita Vitiugov and Maxim Matlakov have performed second in the most important tournaments.

Ian Nepomniachtchi

Made his mark in 2010 when he won the European Individual Championship and the Russian Championship, as well as having a stellar performance at the Khanty-Mansiysk Olympiad with Russia's B-team. He started to get invitations to big tournaments and was not out of place in Wijk aan Zee 2011 or the incredibly tough Memorial Tal later that year, in which he defeated Vladimir Kramnik and started his other games. It was strange, therefore, that 2012 was a year to forget. He was not invited to play Tal Memorial or play the Olympics with Russia, failed to qualify for the Russian Championship and was outbidden on the ELO list by another Russian player born in 1990, Dimitri Andreikin. It also came to light that Nepomniachtchi has been working as second of Magnus Carlsen. Chess fans are hoping to use this experience to finally get to the top of the world rankings.
