Winning the Nobel prize for chemistry; the discovery of Fullerenes - Carbon C60 & C70, in 1996 has led to a better understanding of cosmology.

Harold Kroto explains in this lecture - The Celestial Sphere that fell to earth, maybe he is also hinting at the Shungite meteorite that crashed into the territory known today as Russia , some millions of years ago which is made up from many types of carbon including high levels of C60.

Super Novas are discharging dark carbon matter that is molecular in structure - thus seeding the basic materials for the foundation of life.
