Yesterday a viral video was released on the web called "How to Hijack Amazon Prime Now for Good." The video depicts a team of people in New York City utilizing Amazon's fastest shipping service (under two hours) to give gifts of things to the homeless. What an incredible use of modern technology to help people! I was shocked that shipping could be this fast; I know I must have heard of Amazon Prime Now before but somehow must have slipped my mind.

The above example of giving gifts to people without an address is exactly something we've been planning to make capable with our platform. We're still under heavy construction and eventually when we're up we can facilitate much more like allow organizing volunteering, giving and eventually bartering 2nd hand goods (that's why our business cards read "Buy. Sell. Find. Trade. Help. Give").
Now onto Ukiah news (our pilot city).
Winter Homeless Shelter Open
One month ago we're super excited that the Ukiah Winter Shelter was opened to house those without a house in this cold and wet season.
For those needing support, intake happens at Plowshares on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays & Fridays from 5:30-6:30PM. Guests who want to keep their spot need to check in by phone by 5:30PM and be at shelter by 8PM.
The shelter is available at (707) 234-3260.
We're hoping the opening of the resource center (same location but with daily hours) goes smoothly in January and that we'll have a place for centralized donation and to integrate helping with the services they provide and our website.
