Recycle bottles for charity

In the Netherlands it is customary that you hand in plastic empty bottles and beer bottles at the supermarket.

These bottles are charged with deposit money. Money that you paid at purchase because it is included in the price of the bottle.

When you hand in, you will receive a portion of the money back.

For the good cause

But today I suddenly saw a new option at the collection point for these bottles. The choice to transfer the money to a charity account.

This is a fantastic idea, of course! That way they made it very easy to donate money to charity. Namely by means of a push of a button.

The big advantage is that these charities no longer have to call at your front door for a donation, but that people can decide for themselves whether and when they want to transfer money.
