JAM24

After the best part of a bottle of whisky and a bit of ranting, Robin Evans and Tim Lane put together an idea which would utilise the energy of great musicians to generate interest and money to aid people of lesser fortune, our focus at this time was on the exodus of refugees fleeing Syria. The plan was to stage a twenty-four hour musical extravaganza at Tpot Recording studio in Perthshire Scotland starting at midday on the 14 August, performed by the best musicians we knew, the emphasis was on improvisation and quality, with Tim; a great drummer and trombone player being the Musical Director and Robin; an engineer / producer and owner of Tpot Studio being the recording engineer and host. We blessed the music room with burning sage and asked that every note played and sung and every beat hit be done so with an energy fit to fulfill our quest with mind-fullness of the plight of who we were trying to help.
The first note was struck and the next twenty-four hours became a magnificent magical journey of music and discovery as the hearts and souls of the musicians were poured out and exposed. Over the day and night and day again there was a stream of wonderful people come to give their talents their time and their love and support for what we were all trying to achieve. At midnight the roof of the studio was being lifted by pipes, guitars and singing, by three a.m. the jazz trio “Sink” were noodling our minds and at dawn the wonderful Mhari Campbell enchanted us with her viola playing and story telling and as the sun rose we played in the next day exhausted and exhilarated by what we had just done, at midday on the 15 August we finished.
It took Robin and Tim three days too mix down the music recorded and at the end of it we had seventeen hours of fabulous heartfelt music and video.
Ultimately we would like other studio spaces and musical communities around the world to perform their own event under the banner of the JAM24 Foundation and upon completion of their event to upload their music and video recorded to the JAM24 master hub web page, thus creating a world music forum built on the musical donations given by the participants. These creative donations can then be viewed and listened to by the general public the world over, who would then be encouraged to donate to the chosen charities or to invest in the JAM24 concept by buying crypto tokens, which would increase our potential for targeting specific issues.
The JAM24 music catalogue would be made available to be used by advertising and movie sync companies securing certain copyright monetisation for the foundation.
Steem it seems like a great place to get ideas and practical networks to help this project... all advice welcome.panoramic ross ainsley studio shot.jpg
