The feeling When we abandoned by our Family

It’s really important for us to have concern and care to anyone or someone who needs help attention and even asking for love. Being a Social Editor for a Volunteer Community Group we decided to help an old man and his name is Tatay Pedak. He is a street abandoned man in the train railroad.

He is diabetic, highblood and even has some skin disease due to his struggle living in the street near in train railroad. According to some stories behind his life he is a drunker and very abusive to his self when he is young. Until his wife and children left him and didn’t care anymore.

After long years he lives in the street, beg for money and ask for some small help for some people who pass by in his place. He suffers and feels alone after all, he struggles and feel the hunger and unloved.

Till he diagnose as a diabetic and highblood. It’s true that HEALTH is WEALTH, while we getting older we need to takecare of ourself and keep healthy. We need to give our self some rest, enough sleep, eating healthy foods and never stressing being abusive into our body.

Despite of those wrong things did by Tatay Pedak I guess he paid and suffer much for his mistake. He lost his family, his home; he got sick and lives in pitiful way. Imagine how many times he skips eating foods and paralyze his legs to make him struggle to move.

Because of some nice people and other volunteers Tatay Pedak receive some in kinds, food and a helpful wheelchair for him. And he transfer in small house under by social worker project. No matter how he been badly in his past life who are we to judge and blame him. But still to help and understand that his story is a good lesson for young people to avoid alcohol, be healthy and love our family.

Changing is not too late the moment we realize that there’s always a time to correct our mistake but to accept it and see it as a lesson and to move forward.

There is one more thing he asks. A used clothes, food and electric fan because the small house where he was transfer is very hot and truly needed.

Me and my fellow volunteer quickly find his place and bring a small gift from us with the help as well of our friend from Hongkong. We bring rice, clothes, breads, biscuits, coffees, soaps, toothbrush, tooth paste and we bought electric fan for him. We love to share and it’s our will to help people in small thing as we can.

We totally witness his situation struggling about his medicine and it’s really hard for him to move because of his paralyzes leg. He share his life story, he cried and appreciate what we bring, he tell us how difficult life the moment he lost everything.

But we need to be strong and encourage him, showing how to be brave while behind of it we are carried away and touch about his difficulty in life. We tried to control our teary eye but smile with him and make him feel that there is always hope in our LIFE. We grow and getting matured to learn with our mistake but never ever try to do it once again.

I know the feeling when you lost everything but we need to let him feel that there is more to gain after the storm in our life.

We feel happy and we know it’s worth it to give some smile and enlighten a bit the difficulty of Tatay Pedak about his life. And small act is truly wonderful and inspiring to someone, which life never ends by mistake but to correct it and live with another hope and chance once again.

We should not think that when human made mistake he is generally bad and never had a chance to change for good. In every storm or sunset remember that there is always have wonderful SUN that shine for us to remind that living with light is way better than to live in darkness and feel alone. Love is the best instrument we can share, we can give and we treasure in this imperfect but wonderful world.
