After their busy schedule last week, @flabbergast-art and #tataydagsa again travelled for 3 hours west of Bayawan City to Kabankalan City, the second largest municipality after Bacolod City of Negros Occidental, this time to attend the Udyakan Festival from July 27th till August the 2nd. This festival is only one of the 3 festivals that is being held in this city every year. UDYAKAN according to Kuya Marlon means merry-making in English.

To join such festivity, all of their indigenous instruments were again manually carried, together with @flabbergast-art's works and #tataydagsa's bamboo crafts. Surprisingly with already heavy burden, a couple of bamboo bikes were noticeable in their luggage.

Rather than perform as he usually do, @flabbergast-art only did some demonstrations with his instruments. He is happy to just introduce them and let his audience play whichever instrument people fancy.

According to @flabbergast-art "Music unites all culture. As for Music and Arts, it is the soul of a nation".

Tatay Dagsa sometimes join him jamming with his indigenous instruments, but as he can also sing, compose his songs and play the guitar...he sometimes play solo with his guitar.

Check this clip from Udyakan Festival:

Bamboo crafts

Tatay Dagsa is the only guy in Bayawan whose into BAMBOO CRAFTS. And as @flabbergast-art is helping create new innovations as well as using bamboo for his art, these have been what they have been showcasing around the province.

Can you guess on which ones are the bird callers?

Try it with water and be surprised!

Tatay Dagsa in his advocacy is also promoting BACK TO BASICS utensils like bamboo straws, stirrer, mugs, pens, anything that he can make with bamboo, or any driftwood that he can get his hands on. One need only go to his CAFE, more so in his household to see this.

A couple more of pics!
