Lend with Care - First Repayment UpdatesteemCreated with Sketch.

in #charity9 years ago

So just over a month ago I joined "Lend with Care" and started providing peer2peer micro-loans to help people work their way out of poverty.

I am pleased to say that all four people who I have lent money to have now made there first repayments.

I highly recommend signing up with LendwithCare. https://www.lendwithcare.org

Here's how it works:

"Lendwithcare is an initiative of poverty fighting charity, CARE International UK."

"Lendwithcare is a revolutionary way to help some of the world’s poorest people work their way out of poverty with dignity. Lendwithcare allows you to lend as little as £15 to fund a small business and once your money is repaid you can choose to recycle your loan to support another poor entrepreneur, or withdraw your money. Lendwithcare is currently working in ten countries."

ALL the money you loan to the entrepreneur goes to the entrepreneur.
ALL the money that is repaid by the entrepreneur is returned to you.
The in country microfinance institutions are funded from the loan interest payments, not your money.
CARE International is financed through optional donations outside of the loans.

Here is a reminder of the people I am currently supporting with microloans:

Eugene Pasaylo - Balamban, Cebu, Philippines

"Aimée de Dieu Imanigiraneza is a 21 year old farmer. He lives with his mother and his two younger sisters. He is applying for a loan to buy potato seeds; Aimee reckons he will earn $590 net. With that money, he will continue with his farming activity but also he will pay school fees for his younger sister who will start secondary school next year in January. Himself, he did not have the chance to finish his studies but he thinks that if her sister finishes secondary school, he may take a course on agriculture to improve his chances."

Jean bosco Nzamurambaho - Nyabinoni Sector, Muhanga District, South, Rwanda

"Jean Bosco Nzamurambaho is a 37 years old farmer, who lives with his wife, their 2 children, 1 orphan child they have adopted and 1 relative. He started to grow bananas 10 years ago with his wife. The soil is very fertile and the demand for the fruit is high as people also use bananas to cook. He is applying for a loan to buy a small plot of land and increase his production"

Sary Chhin - Banleck Village, Samrorng Commune, Cambodia
https://www.lendwithcare.org/entrepreneurs/index/26486

"Sary is 41 years old and currently grows wet season rice on four hectares of land. Wet season rice takes about six months to cultivate before it is ready to be harvested. Sary normally produces around three tonnes of rice per hectare to supply on the market. Since she started farming, Sary has needed to rent other villagers’ tractors to plough her land. This costs her around $60 per hectare. To reduce on her expenses and enable her to prepare her land and harvest her crops on time, she has decided to take out a 36 month loan in order to buy a walking tractor to plough her land."

Also, I have been maliciously spam downvoted by a certain user on some of my previous posts. This is because I flagged a couple of his posts for both plagiarism as well as abusive and threatening behaviour. Any upvotes to counter the flag spam would be appreciated.
