My three golden rules: Lessons learned from my charity work in the Middle East.

A snap taken from a recent talk that I gave at METU, in Ankara.

This was a part of an event aimed at supporting refugees and helping them to get the skills that they need for when they return and rebuild Syria.

My talk was simple, it was about the three rules that I learned whilst running the Aid/Education projects. Those rules are as follows.

The First Rule: *Never be afraid of making mistakes

Simply don't let your fear of failure paralyze you into inaction. If you want to do something then go for it! You will make mistakes, we all do, but you will only ever fail if you do not learn from your mistakes!

A master has made more mistakes than someone who has just begun, he did not give up and fail but instead learned from his mistakes and became a master in his craft. So can you, it takes time, pain and effort but you can achieve great things in your life. Do not be afraid of making mistakes.

Rule Two: Only work with Good High-Quality People

This is difficult and it took me a long time to learn. Avoid cynical, cruel and jealous people. Those who want nothing out of life and are envious of those who've did something with theirs.
This is difficult but try to get them out of your life. Except for criticism from those who will give you genuine criticism instead of whinging.

Work with good high-quality people who want more out of life, these people may not be the best at what they do, or cost the most, but their enthusiasm and trustworthiness will far exceed their lack of skills.

The Final Rule: * Smile, don't be serious all of the time!*

This is probably the most difficult of our rules. But try to find happiness,

Manors cost you nothing but being kind and respectful to others is priceless.
Little acts of kindness are like spreading seeds of joy, in time they will grow and spread. We all have battles in our lives that we cannot avoid... But how we treat others is completely our choice.

Both cynicism and happiness are infectious, it's better to spread happiness than misery.

If there's one lesson that I want you to learn ,it is to be kind to others and to realise that you all have the potential to do great things in your life!

I'm still out here and will be for a few more weeks, is there anything that you'd like me to write about? Please let me know in the comments.

Thanks for reading.
