Oil price is constantly rising in the Philippines and it is now costly to travel by any means of transportation. The fare of either jeepneys or buses adds burden to the daily expenses of an individual or a family esp if it is a daily basis due to their work. The salary of an employee have an increase in a year or two or maybe not at all but the oil is skyrocketing! It is truly a burden esp to those minimum wagers and having a family to feed plus the other expenses such as education of the children and some daily needs. Sometimes, the food budget for the family will be cut and diverted into the daily fare for transportation.
One of the charitable initiatives that were conceptualized by Mr. Public Service Daniel Razon is the Free Ride "Libreng Sakay". It is intended for the public commuters esp to those who are less fortunate on things in this life. They even offer a free light meal with a free bible while you are watching UNTV Channel inside the bus. It somehow alleviates burdens of commuters who are short of budget. They even offer a free ride on Trains, Ferries, and Ships on a special occasion or in an emergency situation.
They do free ride also in some of the cities and provinces and this was done on special occasions. They utilized several types of transportation ranging from tricycle, jeepneys, and buses. All the participants in this noble endeavor were volunteers and they were eager to do good to their fellowmen in any way they can while they have an opportunity to do so.
Even in overseas, they offer free ride esp to our distressed OFW who were maltreated by their employers. These abused OFW were given a free ticket in international flight going back home in the Philippines. surely, this is a great relief for them and their families who are anxiously waiting for their safe return home.
