Steemit Charity: Helping a Friend Who Fell From 2nd Floor and Suffered 4 Fractured Bones
I have high regards for Steemit community members as generous and benevolent citizens ready and willing to help those who are in need.
My friend is Richmond. I hope to touch your heart and help him with your donations. All SBD and STEEM will be donated to him and his family to augment the bills incurred by his accident.
The Fall
The Pain Was Unbearable
Here's the account of what happened to him a few weeks ago.
Richmond Panganiban Ilao, 34 years old, husband of Hazel Paculanang, is working as an English teacher in a small Thai School in Bangkok, Adventist Ekamai School.
On August 26, Richmond fell from a height of about 4-5 meters onto concrete floor. He was quickly rushed to the hospital and had a full body x-rays and CT scans. He has four fractured bones all on the left side of his body--left elbow, left leg, left hip and his sacrum.
Richmond's fractures are slowly healing. He has been receiving physical therapy to help with the fractured elbow and has been making good progress. His leg, hip, sacrum fracture is taking the longest to heal and is giving him the most pain and discomfort. With help he is able to sit up and get into a wheelchair but can only remain in that position for short periods of time.
As Richmond was confined in the hospital for 27 days the hospital bill came up to quite a significant amount. The help from the insurance company plus Richmond’s work place will only cover about 20% of the total cost.
He will also be needing to have follow up doctor visits, x-rays, and physical therapy sessions to help him stand and walk again. We are not sure when Richmond will able to go back to work again, but he will most likely need till the end of the year to heal and move around normally.
Any financial help we receive will help to pay the hospital bills for Richmond’s recovery.
At The Hospital
Concert for a Cause for Richmond
Our church in Bangkok, Bangkok International Church (BIC), is holding a concert-for-a-cause for Richmond this coming October 8, 2016, @2.45pm GMT+7. We are selling tickets for this concert and all proceeds will go to Richmond's family. We have been practicing a song as a MASS CHOIR as the finale of the concert.

I told all the members of this great community of people which I am very proud of: Steemit.com. I introduced the great community to these people and they were very glad and excited about what our community can do. And they are all eager to join Steemit to help their brother and friend Richmond get whatever financial support Steemit may provide.

@elissahawke, yes, we all cried inside for our good friend. sometime we wonder why such things happen to us. and sometimes, just because it didn't happen to us personally, we can be indifferent. but our local community cares for each other. and I believe Steemit is a caring community as well. the reason why I brought this concern here. Hoping to get more donations from our Steemit friends before this post get past 24 hours.
