Major Changes
- We have reworked how subscriptions are handled inside our internal infrastructure. During high-volume periods, traffic exiting the trading engine was reaching 3–4 gigabits, a volume of traffic that could simply cripple some webserver instances. We now have created a smarter middleware layer for handling where subscription data should go, resulting in an 80% decrease in internal network traffic.
- The above subscription rearchitecture put strain on the pub/sub system we are using for this process. It has been rebuilt to scale horizontally, which was just put live about an hour ago. It is working well and reducing websocket response times.
- The engine team has identified and shipped major performance increases when handling orders that execute multiple times, such as market orders or liquidations that eat many levels of the book or execute against many small orders. This has delivered a 200% increase in performance for those orders.
Minor Changes
