After thrashing Barca in the Super Copa many Madridistas thought that this season would be another Madrid dominant season. However things did not turn out as expected and Barca learned from its mistakes and signed Paulinho and Dembele immediately, and Paulinho who was much criticised in the beginning turned into a blessing in disguise. Madrid hopes of winning a domestic title this season was shattered when Laganes knocked them out in the Copa Del Rey tie and went through to semi finals. At this stage Real are 19 points behind leaders Barca and have a game extra against Leganes.
Getting knocked out in the Champions League could prove to be the last nail in the Coffin for Zidane who has been facing a lot criticism from all around Europe.
