How Did I get On Steemit?

It was towards the end of 2017, I had made up my mind to quit a job I was doing at Delta state, Southern Nigeria for two reasons; poor pay and the desire to further studies. I was working as a laboratory FFA analyst at an Oil Milling company.

After attending my school convocation in November, life happened more. I needed to do something that would generate daily income for me. I didn't want to take up a teaching job again as it wouldn't make any difference in terms of the pay.

I was on Fiverr, but the gigs were not coming often, and it was really stressful and exhausting to complete and deliver one gig. For those of us who were on fiverr or who are still on fiverr will really understand this. And don't get me wrong, fiverr pays too and some people are making a fortune from it.

So I started looking out for other alternatives, went online researching about other legitimate money making avenues. I came across Click bank, domain parking, blogger, amazon, CPA offers etc. I took note of all of them, I was going to study and explore them one after the other.

Until the following day, early December 2017, I went online on facebook and read something about Steemit from a post on @samstickkz's timeline, I ignored it. Unlike me, I didn't even give it a second thought or bother to check it out.

As at then, I only had Sam as a facebook friend, I had never met him in person, neither did I have any chat or engage in any form of conversation with him prior to joining Steemit.

Towards the end of the year, I went online on facebook again and I saw him wrote about Steemit again, this time I had to check it out. After checking out the site, I messaged him on facebook that I was interested in joining, he replied immediately on how to join and gave me a community (steemit-uyo) whatsapp group link to join. After a few days, I got my password and found myself on Steemit.

Joining Steemit is one of the remarkable decisions I've made in my life as it has helped in exploring my passion for writing.

Special thanks to @lordjames, dude has been a serious motivation. When I told him I was pausing Steemit for school he seriously frowned at me, and told me I could combine both. Thank you brother.
