Name Top 3 All Time Favorite Movies
May 30 Days Writing Challenge - Day Nineteen
I usually do not watch movies on my own volition, but when I do, I can binge them like crazy with my friends. Overtime, I found myself liking the classics such as Star Wars, 007, etc.
However, there are some personal favorites that captured my heart and I want to share them with the community. You might know them too!
Scott Pilgrim vs. The World
I cannot get over how goofy this film is because I understood almost every reference shown. It accurately depicted how I felt and lived life when I was a student in university. I have the comic collection and the game as well. That's how much I love Scott Pilgrim!
(Scott Pilgrim vs. World 2010)
John Wick
For years, the internet joked about Keanu Reeves. I was on that boat too. I went into John Wick thinking that it would be another meme-y film. To my surprise, Reeves looked like an absolute beast! I never thought I would be sold on all the "gun-fu" action. Just the suspense building up towards his rampage was so well done that I became enamored with the plot.
(John Wick 2014)
God of Gamblers (賭神)
If you like gambling, hustlers, and loan sharks, the Chow Yun-fat (周潤發) classic is a must watch! Basically, before Yu-gi-oh was, there was the God of Gamblers. Nothing beats winning against all odds because you have supernatural abilities. The movie actually had many spinoffs and sequels. Definitely worth checking out!
(God of Gamblers [Du Shen] 1989)
What are your top 3 all time favorite movies? Comment below and share the goodness!
The last movie I went to the theater and watched was in 1995. I used to rent lots of dvds and buy some when they were cheap. I always liked to watch action packed dramas and some sci-fi. Never been to much of a horror watcher since my parents took me to a drive in to see "Night of the living dead" when I was 5 years old.
I used to watch movies but quit about 15 years ago. I don't want to support Hollywood much now that I know the agenda.
However I did watch the TV series "Person of Interest" and it was the most spectacular thing I have ever watched that Hollywood put out.
Could always try Bollywood movies. jk
Looks like another spambot is on your post

Scott Pilgim vs. The World was unique and strange, but overall a good movie. It's not often that dating, video games and super powers get mixed together with a battle of the bands story, but hey, that's what made it strange and unique. The use of text in the movie was actually pretty cool, too.
I have not seen John Wick, though I've heard a lot of good things about it, and I generally like Keanu Reeves.
The God of Gamblers I'd never heard of, but I do like Chow Yun-Fat in other movies I've seen him in, like Bulletproof Monk and particularly Crouching Tiger HIdden Dragon. Marital Arts movies are some of my favorites, even though none made my personal Top 3. :)
Scott Pilgrim contained a lot of memes of my generation, so it was easy to relate to.
John Wick is pretty good. Definite watch.
God of Gamblers was my first Chow Yun-fat movie. It has sequels much like Doctor Who and JoJo's Bizarre Adventures in that the subsequent protagonists all draw back to the original one.
re: sequels
That sounds very interesting. Well, then, I guess I'll have to put it on the growing list of movies I need to watch (along with the sequels, apparently).
I used to watch Dr. Who a lot, but the ones I watched were pretty much the fourth and fifth doctor (Tom Baker, Peter Davidson), so that was a long time ago (30-40 years) and I understand a lot has changed since then.
I've never heard of JoJo's Bizarre Adventures. I guess it was a Japanese Manga, but is now Anime?
Yes, indeed. The story starts with an English gentleman, Jonathan Joestar, and then follows his descendants.
