Trump is doing like a dictator should
You still remember the people who said "wait until he acts, don't judge by his words"? Well, you can now judge by Trumps deeds.
And what do we have? Unusually for a politician he does as he has promised. But he also does other things that are equally not in line with democrats after they won an election. It does have a striking resemblance to what an dictator - at least one who wants to hold on power - does.
Lets have a short checklist.
- Before election be as populistic as possible. You will need fanatics. Promise them whatever is needed, how far from reality or reason it is.
- Already prior to election say the election is rigged. If you win, it's still rigged because you didn't win with way more votes, as is should be.
- Denounce critical media at every possible and impossible opportunity
- Always say you are the best, and who does say otherwise is a lying scoundrel.
- Right after election do something big that shows you hold your promises. The stranger the better, because that keeps it in mind (Mexican Wall that Mexicans pay for).
- Right after election, purge what is now yours from everything contradictory to you or your believes (climate change anyone?)
- Also purge what is now your government from people critical to you (Department of State).
- Test the people directly under you. Let them utter hilarious lies openly. If they do it, they are loyal and even more loyal because they lost all credibility to anyone else. (whisper: Press Speaker)
- (Depending on situation): Lure out your adversaries. Let them spend their energy on something big and open (Muslim Ban) while you are doing the next thing as pssst! as possible:
- Most important: Get your hands on the money. You need to reward your cronies. Best way to do it is cut money that helps your enemies. (Science cuts anyone?)
- Last but not least: Be FAST. Don't give anyone the time to form a strong opposition to you.
