Nice post. Very interesting and informative.
Personally, I have also got into the habit of planting tree seeds in waste grounds, and odd spots where it looks like one is needed. I simply poke a hole in the ground and drop a seed in. About 25% seem to grow, and once above knee hight they have a good chance of reaching maturity.
