What the Future Holds For the Next generation?
If every child in the womb of a mother is given the chance to see the pain his/her mother goes through as she travails in labor, his conclusion would be that I am coming into a world where someone bears your pain and affliction that you may live and arrive peacefully. Ironically it turns out to be a different story where young babies cry after all the pain their mothers had gone through. I believe midwives and nurses would wish to interpret the pains of the young innocent child but they lack knowledge of that. Here is the real meaning to what actually occurs; the first breath of the innocent child gives him a glimpse of what the future holds for the generation in which he is to live in.
Generation as defined by Merriam Webster 11th Collegiate Dictionary is a group of individuals born and living contemporaneously. The state of the world address captured the following as we strive in the name of building a better and harmonious place to live and to secure the future of the next generation. In our very conscious effort to better the world we end up worsening the scene. We are living in an era where we are juxtaposing good and bad, weighing them on a scale to strike a balance. We are building a generation were we think our personal interest should be given the benefit of a doubt to rule and have its place in the world.
Out of the billions of people in existence, it sounds so offending to deny the irrational rights of folks who have nothing better for their lives and the world at large. In this conscious effort to create a more balanced world we turn to accept what we have to fight against. The lives of prostitution, gays, pornography, corruption, atheism, nepotism, embezzlement, bureaucracy walks freely in our streets. Who is there to curb them. Certainly no one. All in the name of creating a balance. It is the truth without doubt that the knowledge of evil makes one do evil. The future generation is feeding on these threats. How are we preserving them all from the threat posed by these atrocities, and is our so called balance the best option we can give them? Accepting negative and preaching positive at the other hand.
Pornography has been one of the fastest trending threat to rising nation builders. Survey conducted in various institution shows that about 70% of people within the ages 9-20 have been exposed to pornography, either being video or images. The cooperate efforts of parent to prevent their kids turns out to stand a great contention as they can’t follow our kids to school and effectively monitor their steps.
Painfully, our movie industries, as of now, it stands out that any commercial may seem useless and not enticing when it lacks glimpse of nudity. Perfect story lines meant to communicate love gets stack along the line as it is also being tainted with nudity. The big question here, has thought been given to what we are trying to inculcate into our future leaders? What platform are we building for them to stand on? Visions of children with powerful and great innovative mindsets are being thwarted. Nudity is our offer to them to satisfy their score. Worst of it all is that the role models of most of our kids are heralding such acts.
A lot can be said and be deliberated upon, lets rise up and see the potentials in the kids of the next generation. Appreciate the efforts of what they are determining to do. Let’s live a legacy for the next generation. A pattern that will be deemed worth imitating, For the future is not what lies ahead and we are running to meet. The youths are the future. Teens are the future. Children are the future. Save one today, And save the future.
